On this side we give answers on questions you would like to know. Shouldn´t your questions be answered, please don´t hesitate to contact us via contact form, phone call or per mail.
Can I book a room directly on that website?
No. There is no possibility to book a room directly on our website. Because of the limited number of rooms, we refrain this in your an our interest. So, we want to avoid an overbooking. If you choose „direct booking“ in our request form, so your chosen room will be booked directely if it is available.
What do I need to know by cancellation?
A trip may not be possible to start for a variety of reasons. Therefore, it is always good to have a travel cancellation insurance. You can learn more about our cancellation policy here or from our terms and conditions.
When can I do the check-in?
Our check-in hours are from 14:30 to 19:00 (02:30 pm to 7 pm; except on wednesdays. Further information you will find under „day off“). If you would like you could arrive earlier, the occupation could be guarantied at 14:30 (2:30 pm) at the earliest. Should you arrive after 19:00 (7 pm), we would ask you to tell us at 17:00 (5 pm) at the latest.
Can I stay longer in my room at the day of departure?
Basically you could use your room until 11:00 (11 am) at the day of departure. A late-check-out is possible, as far as your room mustn´t be cleaned for other guests. For the late-check-out, a fee will be charged.
What is included in the travel fee?
In your travel fee the overnight stay with breakfast and the use of the indoor swimming pool is included.
Is there free Wi-Fi?
Yes! There is free internet via WiFi in all public areas and in the rooms. There is no limitation of data or a maximum number of devices. In addition, you have the possibility to use the internet terminal in the reception area for free. You also have the possibility to do prints or copies (payable). We also send faxes on your behalf (payable).
Is there an Elevator?
No. Because of achitectural reasons it´s not possible to build an elevator afterwards. To avoid a „bad awakening“ at your arrival, we inform you at a reservation, that there is no lift in our hotel. Should you have problems with walking, but some steps shouldn´t be a problem, we try to give you a room first floor. Please tell us your personal situation while booking. Of course we will assist you with your luggage.
Is there breakfast?
Yes! In your travel fee breakfast is included. Shouldn´t you need breakfast, please tell us while booking or one day before and we will give you a discount on your travel fee. Further information you will find under breakfast.
What does „Garni“ mean?
As a Hotel Garni, our catering offer consists of our rich breakfast buffet. Lunch and/or dinner and thus half or full board are not available. A restaurant is not available.

What's aroudn me?
If you stay with us, you stay central but idyllic. The Ammersee and the steamboat pier is only 200 metres away. The railway station, with direct connection to Augsburg and Schongau, as well as to the S-Bahn S4 to Munich and to the Werdenfelsbahn to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is 50 meters away. The highway A96 to Munich and Lindau is 10 minutes away from Utting, where you can reach the center of Munich in 45 minutes. From Munich airport Franz-Josef-Strauss (MUC) you can reach us in approx. 60 minutes by car.
How is the parking situation?
Our hotel has an own parking area and has 11 spaces (depending on parking situation) . Those are reserved for our hotel guests in first place. Even with strong occupation of our hotel are those spaces enough. Should there be a shortage, there are public parking areas near or hotel for free. There is no deep-level garage at our house.
Can I take a dog with me?
Basically it is no problem if your dog comes along. Please tell us at your booking request. The request must be confirmed in writing form from us. Should that not happen, we couldn´t guarantee a room at arrival, because the rooms where you could take the dog with you are limited. An overnight stay with dog is only possible in rooms of cat. B. Also it is only possible to take one dog with you. Per night we charge you a fee of 9 Euro because of the highter cleaning service. Also charged will be eventuel damages caused by the dog. Should the dog get into other rooms, so the rooms must be cleaned because of allergies, what causes enormous extra costs. Those also have to be paid by the dog owner. Other animals (for example cats, birds, etc.) are not allowed.
Can I bring my bicycle along?
Yes! And you should do that. The area around the Ammersee is perfect for biking.
Your bicycle could be parked in our bicycle garage for free. Futher information, what you can do in our region and where you can borrow bicycles of E-bikes you will find under leisure program.
I have got a food intolerance of allergy.
We want to have every guest satisfied. Also such with a food intolerance or allergy. We regard your situation. Further information you will find under „breakfast“.
Are there single rooms?
Yes! Our hotel offers a small number of single rooms in cat. B to garden side. You could also book rooms of all category as a single room.
How could I pay for my stay?
You could pay your invoice cash, per EC or credit card (MasterCard and VISA). For business people there´s the possibility to pay per transaction, if your company gives you a confirmation of cost coverage.
Are there non-smoking rooms?
Yes, all our rooms are non-smoking rooms. For the purpose of health to other guests especially children, smoking is also not allowed in all public areas. Smoking is only allowed on the balcony or terrace of your room as well as on the breakfast balcony and our beer garden.
How many stars has the hotel?
Our hotel does not hold an official classification title of a hotel association. However, based on the criteria of various associations, our hotel ranks on the well-known 3-star level.
Is there a day off?
Yes, wednesday is our day off. What does that mean for our guests? If you wouldn´t arrive or depart on a wednesday, there is no change for you. If you want to depart on a wednesday we would like you to do your terms of payment until 10:00 (10 am). You still have the opportunity to use the room until 11:00 (11 am). If you arrive on a wednesday after 10:00 (10 am) we would arrange how you could get your key while reservation. On wednesday our wellness area "Swimming & Sauning" couldn´t be used because of safety reason. Also, our restaurant is closed. In the reception area there are telephone numbers of the hotel management in cast of emergency.
Can I go on vacation with family and children?
Yes! Our house offers a family studio (occupancy max. 4 person) and a family apartment (occupancy max. 5 person) in which your whole family can stay. We also rent children bed, which could be used in some room categories. For cleaning we charge a fee per night. All information you will find here.
Do I need to pay in advance?
You only must pay a part of your travel fee if your stay is more than 14 nights.
Do I need identification documents while check-in?
Yes, while check-in we make a copy of your identification card or passport. A driver liscense could not be used. In addition we are bound, because of the German register law, to let you fill in a register form. These measures are also for your own safety and are required by thte lawmaker.
Where can I find information about the sauna?
Our hotel provides a Finnish sauna. You can book its use during your stay for a small extra charge. Our indoor swimming pool is not open due to the current situation. You can find more information here.
Lakeside/Lakeview – where is the difference?
Our popular rooms of cat. A have balconies to the direction of the Ammersee. Nevertheless we don´t say „lakeview“ because we can´t guarantee the seaview in all rooms of that category, especially in summer, The reason for this are the trees of the town of Utting, on which vegetation we don´t have an influence. To be honest to our guests, we tell you while reservation.

Who is behind the Wittelsbacher Hof?
Since more than 90 years the hotel Wittelsbacher Hof is a family business. Since generations it is guided by Family Wiesheu with the help of many hard-working employees.
